How the classification is produced

   Describe your product

   Write a short product description in Swedish or English — or paste a CN code directly. The tool understands free text, material specifications, product names, and partial CN codes.

2. 02
   The tool suggests a classification

   The model searches Combined Nomenclature CN 2026 and the relevant EU legal acts. Every suggestion returns a GIR rule that motivates the choice, plus similar precedents from the European BTI register.

3. 03
   Get the verdict on duties, EUDR, and next steps

   The result contains MFN duty rate, any preferential treatment, VAT, EUDR status, sanctions, and a concrete to-do list. When uncertain, the result is marked "Review recommended" and you always see the alternatives that were weighed.

Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products covers seven commodities and their derived products. Klassio automatically checks whether your CN code falls within any of them.

1. Rule 1
   Headings & notes are binding

   Classification follows the heading text and notes to sections and chapters. Section and chapter titles are indicative only.

2. Rule 2
   Incomplete goods & material in mixtures

   2a — a good in unfinished condition is classified as the finished one if it has the essential character of the finished kind. 2b — a reference to a material includes mixtures; composite goods are classified under rule 3.

3. Rule 3
   Competing headings

   3a — the most specific heading wins. 3b — for mixtures, the material giving the goods their essential character decides. 3c — last resort: the heading with the highest number.

4. Rule 4
   Most akin kind

   Goods that cannot be classified under rules 1–3 are classified under the heading for the most akin kind of goods.

5. Rule 5
   Packaging & containers

   Specially shaped cases are classified with their contents. Ordinary packaging follows the goods unless clearly intended for repeated use.

6. Rule 6
   Subheadings — same logic

   Classification at the subheading level applies rules 1–5 analogously, but only subheadings at the same level may be compared.

1. Not legally binding

   The tool gives guidance, not decisions. To bind Tullverket to a specific classification, you need to apply for a Binding Tariff Information (BTI). The decision is valid throughout the EU for three years and is legally defensible in a customs dispute. Apply for a BTI at Tullverket ↗

2. Not a customs broker

   The tool does not file the declaration for you. For complex matters — securities, ATA carnet, anti-dumping duty, proofs of origin — you still need a freight forwarder or licensed customs broker. Klassio helps you know what to ask them about.

3. Not an oracle

   The model can be wrong. Accuracy is measured against an internal truth set of real product descriptions and the latest measurement is reported at the top of this page. When uncertain the result is flagged and you always see the three most likely alternatives — so the choice is yours, not the model's.
