Terms and privacy

Klassio is a digital decision-support tool that helps importers find the right CN code (Combined Nomenclature), assess EUDR scope, and look up duty rates. The service reads daily-updated open data from Tullverket, EUR-Lex, JRC, the Swedish Forest Agency and the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

Klassio is not legally binding classification. Suggestions are AI-generated with traceable sources and cited interpretive rules — but not a Binding Tariff Information (BTI). For legal certainty, apply for a BTI at your national customs authority.

Anonymous users can search without an account, with per-IP rate limits. With an account you get saved classifications and a token for the Klassio MCP server. Free-text classifications are capped per month; CN lookups are unlimited.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the product descriptions you submit. You may not use Klassio to circumvent customs regulations, conceal a declaration obligation or disguise incorrect imports.

Klassio improves by using anonymised search phrases to train the tool's models. Searches from anonymous visitors and from accounts that have not turned sharing off may be included in the training material.

Anonymisation is a core guarantee. Stored queries are never linked to your account. No identity information is saved alongside training data. The IP-address hash rotates after 90 days (for abuse prevention, not for tracking individual users). The search phrase is stored alongside:

• Klassio's suggested CN code and interpretive rule.
• Date and time of the call.
• The 90-day rotating IP hash for abuse prevention.

The raw query text is additionally kept at most 30 days in an operational log (a security buffer against abuse), then cleared.

Default: anonymous searches and accounts contribute by default. Anyone can exclude an individual search at the search field on the start page and in the Dictionary (the checkbox). The compact search in the header has no checkbox — use the start page or the Dictionary to exclude a single search. Signed-in users can turn sharing off entirely under Settings → Privacy.

You can change consent at any time. Sign in and go to Settings → Privacy. The change applies going forward — historical anonymised rows are cleared on request per GDPR Article 17 (see Section 4).

The data controller is the operator of Klassio (see §1). Legal bases under GDPR Article 6:

• Contract (6.1.b) — for data required to provide the service (account, saved classifications, MCP token).
• Legitimate interest (6.1.f) — for security logging and abuse prevention (90-day IP hash).
• Consent (6.1.a) — for training-data capture. Explicit consent is obtained at account creation (a checkbox in the registration form). Consent can be withdrawn at any time in Settings → Privacy.

Your GDPR rights:

• Right to information (Art. 13–15) — email [email protected] for a copy of your stored data.
• Right to erasure (Art. 17, "right to be forgotten") — account data is deleted within 30 days of a request.
• Right to restriction (Art. 18) and objection (Art. 21) — fulfilled via opt-out in Settings.
• Right to portability (Art. 20) — request an export via [email protected].

Complaints can be lodged with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Klassio's suggestions are decision support, not legal classification. The operator is not liable for incorrect customs declarations, EUDR-related fines or other consequences of following an AI-generated suggestion without verifying it against your national customs authority or a licensed customs broker.

The service is provided "as is". The current measured accuracy is reported on /metod; error-free output is not guaranteed.

These terms may be updated. Material changes are emailed to registered users before they take effect. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.

Swedish law applies. Disputes are settled in the first instance by the Stockholm District Court. EU consumer-protection law (for private individuals) applies where relevant.
